How Crane is Helping Communities Affected by COVID-19
At Crane, our top priority has always been keeping our customers and their loved ones happy and healthy. We have been diligently following information and the recommended guidelines from the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community, employees, and customers. We wanted to take the time to ensure you that all necessary precautions are being taken with the shipping and handling of your purchases and that our warehouses have also adopted the necessary precautions of increased hand-washing, ongoing sanitization of surfaces, minimal physical contact, and staying at home if feeling unwell.
Health-related supplies like humidifiers that help with air and breathing quality are an essential need right now. The CDC has recommended humidifiers to help ease the symptoms of coronavirus, and Crane has been fortunate enough to help by making several donations to those in need.
The Javits Center
Crane donated 144 humidifiers to the Javits Center in NYC. The Javits Center’s purpose is to provide extra bed’s so for non-COVID patients to take some pressure off of overwhelmed hospitals. Our penguin humidifiers and large drops were placed next to beds in the center to help keep patients comfortable and happy. Check out the photos below- you can see our penguins in the corner of each room!
Good+Foundation
Crane also donated to Good+Foundation. Good+Foundation is a non-profit that was founded in 2001 by Jessica Seinfeld – wife of actor Jerry Seinfeld- and aims to dismantle multi-generational poverty by working with partners to get families tangible goods and services that will help to create a positive path for them. We were able to donate humidifiers to program families in NYC and LA in response to this health crisis. We’re very happy that we are able to help families breathe a bit more easily while they are staying inside during this time.
LA Convention Center
We were also able to donate 100 hippo humidifiers, 100 pig Humidifiers, and 100 2-in-1 Humidifier & Steam Inhalers to the LA Convention Center. Like the Javits Center in NYC, The Convention Center was recently transformed into a federal field hospital to help relieve the pressure on local hospitals who are preparing for a surge of COVID patients. Dr. Gadget for Fox News LA hosted a segment where he featured Crane humidifiers and talked about the benefits of using them, especially now that the CDC is recommending humidifiers for coronavirus. You can find Dr Gadget’s segment here.
Hackensack Marian Hospital
Most recently, Crane donated to Hackensack Marian Hospital in New Jersey. We donated 30 travel humidifiers to some of the hardworking nurses there, along with our ladybug humidifier which is now set up in their meditation room where nurses are able to go and take a breather when they need a minute. We also were able to give them one of our penguin humidifiers as well.
We love being able to donate humidifiers to people who are in need and to health care professionals who are working so hard to keep us healthy and safe.
